Summer is finally here, and if you’re like us then you’re likely craving a frozen roasted green tea drink! Instead of heading out to get a Frappuccino or slushie, try making this easy and delicious Hojicha Frappé at home.

The secret to the perfect hojicha frappé is simple syrup. While most sweeteners sink to the bottom, hojicha simple syrup completely dissolves into the cold blended drink making the extra step absolutely worth it.

Our hojicha frappé is sweet enough on its own, but if you’re looking to indulge top it with some soft serve hojicha ice cream for a refreshing summer dessert!

Ingredients

Hojicha Simple Syrup

Hojicha Frappé

  • Hojicha Simple Syrup
  • 2 cups ice
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare hojicha simple syrup by adding ¼ cup cane sugar and ¼ cup water to a small pot, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Lower heat, and simmer for 2-5 minutes until sugar fully dissolves. Stir occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat, and gradually add 1 tablespoon of hojicha powder until fully incorporated.
  4. Let the hojicha simple syrup cool to room temperature.
  5. Prepare hojicha frappé by adding 2 cups of ice, ¼ cup milk, and hojicha simple syrup to a blender.
  6. Blend on the frozen drink setting, or until smooth.
  7. Enjoy slurping on your ice cold Hojicha Frappé!
